2024 was a year of incredible growth, learning, and innovation for product professionals everywhere.
If you’re reading this, you’re likely part of the vibrant, dynamic community that’s making product magic happen. You worked hard this year, and you deserve a little extra celebration to carry you into the new year. What better way to kick off 2025 than with seven New Year’s resolutions, hand-crafted just for you?
Of course, we need to give a special ✨thank-you✨ to the 250,000-person community across Mind the Product, Pendo, and Product Collective that’s reshaping the industry, one day at a time. Here are seven resolutions to hang your hat on in the new year.
1. Stay curious and ask questions
In 2024, learning wasn’t just an activity—it was your superpower. An astounding 23,000+ product professionals got certified across five of our courses this year—and that’s just including Pendo’s. From Product-led Growth fundamentals and AI-powered product management to Radical Product Thinking, you proved that continuous learning is the true competitive advantage for your career.
Resolution: Challenge yourself to keep getting certified, with and without Pendo. Learning courses are a powerful, tangible way to prove your commitment to honing your craft. Find that certification, workshop, or course that makes you curious or slightly uncomfortable—because that’s where growth happens.
2. Keep digging into the data
Gone are the days of leading sentences with “I think,” and “I feel.” 2025 is about leading with “I know,” because you’re backed by solid product data. Data isn’t just information—it’s your roadmap to innovation.
Your fellow product professionals are diving deep into analytics, creating dashboards, and turning raw numbers into compelling narratives. Pendo collected 22,543,229,896,181 events in 2024, and users were hard at work:
- 73% of Pendo customers used Pendo AI
- 38% of Pendo users ran a Data Explorer report
- 27% of Pendo users tagged a feature
- 29% of Pendo users created a path
- 25% of Pendo users tagged a page
Resolution: Commit to data-driven decision-making. Build one new dashboard (or improve one) per month, challenge your assumptions, and let insights guide your product strategy in 2025. Our product benchmarks are customizable for your industry, company size, and region, so you can easily set a baseline for your product’s growth, engagement, adoption, and more.
3. Spend more time with your customers
Great product management isn’t just about tracking metrics. You need to bring a maniacal focus on the customer into everything you do.
This year, product managers like you are moving beyond tracking user feedback across sticky notes and slack messages, and toward a continuous feedback program.
Resolution: Treat your customers and their feedback as your most valuable asset. Schedule regular customer interviews. Bring all of your qualitative data into one place. Create continuous feedback loops. Analyze and act on qualitative data. Empathize with your users. By making your customers feel heard, your products (and you) become better.
4. Make more friends
Or networking..whatever you want to call it. This year, 150,000+ members of ProductTanks, Pendo, Mind the Product, and Product Collective hosted 450+ events with a pretty spectacular impact. At these events, we saw:
- 110+ expert-led sessions with transformative insights
- 780+ companies represented
- Countless connections made 🫶
Just look at all of these smiling ProductTank leaders:
Resolution: Attend at least one industry event. Join Mind the Product’s online community. Join a product tank in your city—and if your city doesn’t have one, consider this your sign to create it.
5. Read up
The product community’s 2024 reading list was a masterclass in innovation. This year, you loved these six resources the most:
- The playbook for AI-enhanced product management: Learn how to best use AI, from product discovery to iteration.
- Product benchmarks tool: The people have spoken—and they want to know how their app compares to their peers.
- The rise of Product Ops: This intersection of product, engineering, and customer success has become an increasingly popular role.
- How Pendo makes it easy to boost compliance and efficiency on Salesforce: ‘Nuff said.
- 10 KPIs every product leader needs to know: You won’t BELIEVE #9. (Okay, maybe you will).
- Cognitive bias in product management: Lean on data to avoid falling into these traps.
Resolution: Add 45 minutes to your schedule each week to keep up with industry trends and best practices. While this may not seem like a lot, you’ll be surprised at the impact of regular, dedicated time spent learning.
6. Team up
This year, Pendo joined forces with two new companies: Zelta AI and Product Collective. You may have heard about Zelta AI in July, but we announced the acquisition of Product Collective later in the year (at Pendomonium 2024).
By combining Product Collective and Mind the Product, we’ve established the largest U.S. product community, creating a global network of product innovation. In case you missed it, learn more.
Resolution: Think about how you’ll extend a hand to your peers in 2025, whether it’s mentoring a peer, working with another team at your company, or creating a product meetup in your own town.
7. Celebrate wins as a team
Every dashboard created, every customer interviewed, every feature launched—these are wins. Big or small, they matter, but too often, we don’t pause to appreciate our hard work. In 2025, how can you recognize your own accomplishments and lift others up?
At Pendomonium 2024, we hosted our annual customer awards celebration and got to recognize winners across many categories, from product-led growth to extraordinary business impact and employee experience.
Here’s a peek at Employee Experience winner, Ferguson, with Pendo’s CEO and CPO:
Resolution: Create a personal or team ritual to acknowledge and celebrate your achievements regularly. From a small piece of positive feedback to a major bump in ARR, there’s something good to recognize every single week.
The future of product management is bright
As we step into 2025, remember: you’re not just managing products. You’re crafting experiences, solving problems, and helping drive the product profession forward. Here’s to you, the people who turn vision into reality. 2025 is your year. 🥂
